West Indies legend Curtly Ambrose has heaped rich praises on India speedster Jasprit Bumrah and called himself his fan, adding that “he is so different” from other bowlers but yet to effective.

57-year-old Ambrose, who took 405 wickets in 98 Test matches between 1988 and 2000, expressed confidence that Bumrah can also join the 400-club if he maintains his fitness.

“India’s got a few good fast bowlers. I’m a big fan of Jasprit Bumrah. He’s so different than any bowler I have seen but he’s so effective and I’m looking forward to him doing really well,” Ambrose said on The Curtly & Karishma Show on YouTube.

“He is as long as he can remain healthy, fit and play long enough. He can seam the ball, swing the ball and bowl great yorkers. He’s got a lot in his arsenal. So as long as he can remain on the park for a long period of time, I’m sure he can get up there,” Ambrose explained.

Jasprit Bumrah was last seen in action during the now-postponed IPL 2021. He picked 6 wickets in 7 matches for the defending champions Mumbai Indians. He picked 4 wickets in 2 Test matches at home against England, while in Australia the 27-year-old scalped 11 wickets in 3 matches.
