MCA defers Mumbai T20 League due to Covid-19

Keeping in mind the Covid-19 situation in India, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Thursday decided to postpone the third edition of the Mumbai T20 League.

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Vijay Patil and Chairman Milind Navrekar said in a statement that the tournament was being deferred keeping in mind the safety and interests of all the stakeholders.

“In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country and keeping in mind the safety and interests of all the stakeholders involved, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to defer the conduct of the 3rd edition of the T20 Mumbai League till further notice,” the statement said.

The BCCI had granted permission to four state associations to host their intra-state T20 leagues immediately after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League on May 30, and on Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) announced that the Tamil Nadu Premier League will begin on June 4 in a bio-secure environment.

The MCA had conducted its league for two seasons – in 2018 and 2019.
