India skipper Virat Kohli on Thursday shared photos of his training session from the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where Team India are due to take on England in the first T20I on Friday.

In the photos shared by Kohli, he can be seen playing his strokes in a net session, doing some fielding drills and warming up by playing football.

“New week, new format, same mission. Let’s get it,” Kohli wrote on Twitter along with the images. He also shared an Instagram reel where he can be seen hitting the ball around the park.

India recently beat England 3-1 in the four-match Test series and will look to continue their good run in the T20I series as well. All five matches of the series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from March 12 to 20.

Kohli will also hope for a better T20I series after scoring only 172 runs in the Test series against England at an average of 29.

India are ranked No. 2 in the shortest format of the game and had a great run in 2020 where they won 10 of the 11 matches. The only match they lost last year was a dead-rubber in Australia in November after they had won the three-match T20I series 2-0.

India have been unbeaten in T20I series since February 2019 wherein they lost 2-0 to Australia at home. Ever since, they have managed series wins against West Indies in USA and West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh and West Indies, Sri Lanka at home and New Zealand in New Zealand.

Kohli’s men were on fire in the T20I series against New Zealand last year as they swept the hosts 5-0 before handing Australia 2-1 thrashing in Australia following the enforced break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
