Virat Kohli targets MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar’s records in Australia

India will resume international cricket for the first time since March as they take on Australia in a much-anticipated series in Australia from Friday. Virat Kohli’s men will begin the tour with a 3-match ODI series, starting November 27 in Sydney.

Virat Kohli will be keen on leading from the front and making an early impact in the ODI series. Kohli is on the verge of reaching a few milestones as the India skipper returns to one of his favourite hunting grounds.

Captain Virat Kohli will be in focus as he will be without his deputy Rohit Sharma who has been rested for the ODI and the T20I series, against an Australian side that is more balanced and has more firepower than the one India beat in 2019.

Kohli has an impressive record as captain against Australia as the India skipper has led the team to 11 wins in 17 matches. He is just 3 more wins away from equalling MS Dhoni for the most number of wins by an Indian captain against Australia in ODI cricket. Kohili already has the best winning percentage for an Indian captain against Australia.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, the batsman, is also eyeing a major landmark as he is 2 hundreds away from overtaking Sachin Tendulkar on an elite list. Tendulkar, with 9 hundreds, holds the record for most number of 3-figure scores in India-Australia ODI history.

Virat Kohli has 8 hundreds from 40 matches and is tied on the 2nd spot with Rohit Sharma, who, as mentioned earlier, will not be part of the limited-overs series.
