IPL 2020: Brad Hogg points out ‘big issue’ in Mumbai Indians’ plan

Written by Vipin Darwade

Brad Hogg, the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) chinaman bowler, these days is busy figuring out the pros and cons of all the IPL 2020 franchises. Talking about the 4-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians, the Australian has said that all looks good for the Rohit Sharma-led side except one “big issue”.

The 49-year-old said that Mumbai Indians (MI) squad have quality all-rounders, spinners, pacers and batsmen in abundance but their selection process for the playing XI, especially the balance for their foreign stars, will be the key if they want to clinch their 5th title.

The Australia international lauded the top-4 batsmen of the MI line-up, adding that they will create the difference for their franchise. Notably, with Chris Lynn acquired by the Mumbai-based franchise, the top-4 of the team could consist of captain Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Lynn himself.

“Mumbai Indians are going to finish on top of the regular season. Will they take out the final, let’s wait and see. The edge for the Mumbai Indians is their quality top four.

“They have an abundance of all-rounders, good spinners but they have got the best pace battery in the IPL this year. The flaw for them is the selection table, what balance are they going to utilise with their overseas players to make up a prominent XI? That will be their big issue,” BradHogg said on his Youtube channel.
