RCB’s death bowling unit is strengthened: Yuzvendra Chahal

Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have not had the luck in their favour in the last 12 seasons as the franchise has failed to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) title so far. However, the team’s ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal believes that the team has a stronger death bowling unit for IPL 2020.

The franchise, led by one of the most successful India skippers, Kohli, has always shown a splendid batting show but failed to choke the opposition due to lack of an attacking bowling unit. But the Bengaluru-based franchise kept their bowling weakness in focus during the auction held in December last year.

“I have played for RCB for 6 years, the problem has always been, other than the one year when we had Starc, our death-over bowling,” said the 30-year-old RCB spinner in a live chat with the former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra on his Facebook page.

“After 16 overs, I used to bowl the 17th over if required else we had only two bowlers to bowl the last 4 overs. But now we have 3-4 options to bowl the last 4 overs. So, we have covered the thing that we missed earlier,” Chahal added.
