Cricket fraternity reacts as Sushant Rajput passes away

The tragic news of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s passing away shocked the cricket fraternity on Sunday. The talented actor essayed former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s role in his movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.  He was known for his versatility as an actor and earned many laurels with his work in the film industry.

Sushant reportedly committed suicide at his Bandra home on Sunday. As per the preliminary investigation, he was found hanging at his Bandra residence. Condolences poured in for the actor from the cricket fraternity as the likes of Suresh Raina, Kiran More, Irfan Pathan and Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to express their grief.

“Shocked to hear about Sushant Singh Rajput. Met him several times as he spent time with us for Mahi’s biopic. We’ve lost a handsome, ever smiling actor. Om Shanti,” Raina tweeted.

Former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan recalled his last meeting with the actor at Taj Hotel Gym where he had praised him for his work in the movie Kedarnath.

“I chatted with him last at the Taj Hotel Gym, I praised him for his work in Kedarnath & his reply was ‘Bhai please do watch chhichhore’ you will love it!” wrote Irfan Pathan.

“It is a shocking moment for me personally, @itsSSR was someone whom I trained for the role as @msdhoni. I don’t know how I or anyone who knows him will be able to recover from this shock, gone too soon my friend” wrote Kiran More.

Sushant was known for his exceptional acting skills and dedication towards perfecting any role. The 34-year-old Sushant had made his debut in Bollywood with Kai Po Che where his acting was appreciated by many. As per reports, the actor was suffering from depression. No suicide note has been recovered yet from his home by the police.

As per reports, some of the actor’s close friends were at his home as Sushant had hosted them on Saturday. His house help got no response from the actor upon knocking his door on Sunday following which he called his friends for help. Sushant’s friends broke the door open only to find the actor’s body hanging.

The news of his demise has left Bollywood and cricket fraternity in a state of shock. The 34-year-old had acted in movies like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Raabta, Kedarnath and PK among others. He was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore.
