Sri Lanka Cricket Provides Financial Assistance to School Coaches

The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) today initiated a program to distribute a financial grant to 225 School Cricket Coaches, who were financially burdened due to the Covid – 19.

Accordingly, during a ceremony was held this afternoon at the Ministry of Sports under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Dullas Alahapperuma, 132 coaches received a financial grant of LKR 20,000 each, which is a one time payment.

The rest of the coaches will be given the grant in due course.

This grant assistance was initiated by the SLC, following a request made by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

SLC today also donated Turf Machine Rollers, Lawn Mowers and Hand Tractors for the development of School Cricket.

Accordingly, 24 Schools were given Machine Rollers and 16 Schools were given Lawn Mowers and hand Tractors.

The handing over was made during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Sports under the patronage of Alahapperuma.
