Discarded Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina and former cricketer Irfan Pathan met for an Instagram live session on Saturday (May 09). The two spoke on various aspects of the game whereas Raina made heads turn with his sparkling revelation on the former chief selector, MSK Prasad’s claims that the left-hander was communicated after his omission from Team India.

MSK Prasad had recently said in an interview, “I had personally spoken to Raina calling him to my room and explained him the roadmap for his future comebacks. He had, back then, appreciated my efforts,” the former wicketkeeper-batsman was quoted as saying by PTI.

However, Raina claimed in the Instagram live session, “MSK Prasad said that I under-performed and also stated that he spoke to me about my axing, but he didn’t speak to me at all. When my time comes, I will play,” asserted the senior pro, who was a part of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning campaign as well as 2013 Champions Trophy.

Apart from this, both Raina and Irfan brought forward an important point for the Indian cricket board to consider. The duo urged the BCCI to allow India’s discarded senior players to take part in foreign T20 leagues, in order to make a claim for selection into the national side and prolong their respective careers.
