Sri Lanka Cricket launches ‘Train at Home’ program for budding players

Written by Rohit Pawar

In the time of global crisis, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has come up with a unique ‘Train at Home’ program on Saturday for the budding players of the country, when the large parts of the world are under lockdown due the COVID-19 pandemic. The unique digital program is an initiative of WPCA. The program has been designed for the age-group cricketers in which players are being given weekly plans by their coaches.

The plans will also be monitored by the coaches and individual feedback will be provided to the players. The program will continue till the fight against COVID-19 is resolved.

Earlier in March, SLC initiated an ambitious four-year junior national development programme of the country’s U-15 cricket named as ‘Cub Lions’ having a national pool of prospective players with an aim to prepare them for the 2024 Cricket World Cup. The programme will be conducted under the guidance of foreign coach Tim Mckenskil.
