Coronavirus pandemic is going to leave more people bankrupt than dead: Shoaib Akhtar

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, a plethora of cricketers have come forward to spread the awareness about the deadly disease. Shoaib Akhtar, who has an immense following on social media, took to Twitter and opined that novel coronavirus has more economic or financial hazard than a health crisis. “This Corona virus pandemic is going to leave more people bankrupt than dead,” Akhtar tweeted on Tuesday.

According to the latest United Nations (UN) trade report, the world economy is set to go under recession and a loss of trillions of dollars of global income is already predicted in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

Pakistan has approved a Rs 1,200-billion relief package to fight the ongoing coronavirus crisis in the country after the number of cases took a spike on Monday. The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan touched down to 1,865 and as many as 25 people have lost their lives due to the deadly disease. According to news agency PTI, a Rs 100 billion emergency fund has been also set up by the Pakistani government to tackle the destruction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
