Legendary Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his desire of following the footsteps of Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly. Akhtar, who called it quits with the gentlemen’s game almost a decade ago has been a full-time pandit as the Rawalpindi Express is now known for his weekly cricket analysis in the world of social media. Citing an example of the 41st BCCI president, Ganguly, Akhtar opined that the apex cricket board in Pakistan should take notes from India.

“Elite class wants an average crowd under them so that they can always dictate terms to them. They need a chairman like that, a captain who is docile, do we need a captain or something else. A docile captain, what can he do, does he have to walk on to the field or offer prayers?,” Akhtar said on the talk show.

Akhtar then highlighted the fact that the BCCI has been run by former Team India skipper Ganguly while his former colleague Rahul Dravid is taking care of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The world’s fastest pace bowler opined that Pakistan are yet to use him and added that his job was never to sit on Television shows.

“Sourav Ganguly is president of BCCI, Rahul Dravid is heading the national cricket academy. Graeme Smith heads Cricket South Africa. Mark Boucher is the head coach, but the opposite is happening in Pakistan. They have not used me, my job was not to sit on TV shows, they should have allowed me to run cricket, “ Akhtar added.
