Hasan Ali requests Mushfiqur Rahim to accompany BAN for remaining Pak tour

Bangladesh’s senior wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim made the headlines when he refused to travel with his national cricket team for the first half of the Pakistan tour in early 2020. As Bangladesh suffered a 3-0 whitewash in T20Is and an innings defeat in the first Test, before Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 commenced, the 32-year-old backed his stance to not visit Pakistan when his side will again travel to the country for the remainder of the tour, comprising the second and final Test and a one-off ODI.

Now pacer Hasan Ali has made a special request to the Bangladeshi. Ali, who is currently playing for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2020, stated in the post-match conference after his side’s narrow win over Islamabad United, “[Carlos] Brathwaite asked me today why Mushfiqur Rahim is not coming to Pakistan. I told him that I am not sure but I do think he should come as his team is also coming here. Brathwaite’s view was that he should come to Pakistan as it’s a safe country.”
