SLC Confidential Secretary Dusy Sacked With Immediate Effect

Written by N Krishnamurthy

As the national team managed to beat minnows West Indies 3-0, in an unexpected turn of events, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) top officials on Monday mysteriously sacked confidential secretary Dushyanthi Karunanayake from her post with immediate effect, Cricket Age reliably learns.

Dushy, one of the most efficient secretary at Maitland place for long time, was working as the confidential secretary to former incompetent and controversial COO Jerome Jayaratne until his transfer to Khetterama in January.

Earlier, she had worked as confidential secretary for former SLC Secretary That Nishantha Ranatunga and his successer Mohan De Silva. However, she couldn’t survive for long there and was appointed Jerome’s Confidential secretary then.

“She was suddenly told yesterday, that she doesn’t need to come to office anymore” an insider at SLC told Cricket Age.

However, the incident of sacking Dushy has many layers! First, according to sources, last week she had a heated argument with SLC incompetent and controversial CEO Ashley De Silva over the match duty issue for the second ODI in Khetterama. Insiders says that Dushy was furious after knowing that Ashley removed her name from the match duty staffers list at the last moment. She had argument with Ashley over the recently appointed sales manager Melony as well.

Second, during Jerome’s time, she was influential and in ‘privileged’ category. However, as soon as Jerome left SLC after bagging 100% salary increment, he forgot the name of Dushy!

Third, emergence of a recently appointed employee has irked majority of SLC staff members! That employee has no official skills, however is getting importance, promotions, allowances and preference due to unknown reasons.

Though, Dushy was already planning to leave SLC by May, to migrate to Australia. However, last two weeks mysterious circumstances have deprived her to leave the Maitland place on her own terms, as now she has been sacked, officially!
