Kamran Akmal picks Rohit Sharma’s six-hitting abilities as best

Pakistan’s veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has still not been able to make the cut in any of the squads for the national side, across formats, with his last appearance coming in April 2017. He has, nonetheless, not lost hope and is striving hard to commence his second-innings for the Men in Green.  During a Q/A session with his avid fans on Twitter, the 38-year-old swashbuckling batsman mentioned Team India’s Rohit Sharma’s name when a user asked him to name a player whose six-hitting skills he admires most.

While some section on the social media platform remained perplexed on him not mentioning his former skipper and Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, Rohit has been a resounding name in world cricket due to his daddy hundreds and six-hitting abilities.

To back Kamran’s choice, Rohit has the most number of sixes in the shortest format of the gentlemen’s game. His tally stands at 127 followed by New Zealand openers in Martin Guptill (109) and Colin Munro (107). Even the likes of Chris Gayle, Eoin Morgan, Aaron Finch and the likes are way behind the Hitman.

Currently, Rohit is out of action from international cricket due to a calf injury he suffered during India’s 5-0 whitewash over New Zealand in the T20Is. He has, thus, been ruled out of the remainder of the tour and his comeback remains a mystery as of now.
