India’s middle-order batsman Manish Pandey extended his unbeaten run in T20 cricket to 12 matches after he went back to the pavilion on 50 not out in the 4th T20I against New Zealand on Friday.

The 30-year-old has scores of 50*, 14*, 14*, 31*, 22*, 2* in his last six T20Is, while scorecard for his last six innings in non-international T20 cricket reads- 50*, 14*, 14*, 31*, 60* and 3 not out.

The Karnataka batsman has represented India on 9 occasions since August 3, 2019, remaining unbeaten 6 times. Team India have played 19 T20I matches during the same period. Interestingly, India won all the 9 matches Manish Pandey was a part of.

Manish Pandey, who boasts of a T20I batting average of 46.40, has led his state team Karnataka to two consecutive title wins in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which happens to be the premium T20 domestic tournament in India.

In ODI cricket Pandey’s career was expected to go uphill after he scored an unbeaten 104-run knock against Australia and helped his team avoid a 5-0 whitewash down under in 2016, but he featured in only 21 ODI matches for India after that inning. Pandey played only one match in 2018 and didn’t get a chance to play any ODI last year.

Manish Pandey is close to 10,000 runs in first-class cricket and currently looking to carry on his good form to solidify his place in the squad. Pandey has batted in the middle-order throughout his career and is eyeing the lower middle-order batting spots which has been up for grab after MS Dhoni’s sabbatical from cricket and Hardik Pandya’s injury.
