Written by N Krishnamurthy

The wife of K Mathivanan, vice president of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), passed away on Monday after a protracted illness.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday morning at 10 AM.

Mathivanan, one of the pioneer of Sri Lanka Cricket, has been regarded as no nonsense, straight forward and one of the most honest administrator in today’s time.

Moreover, over the years, he has played a pivotal role in shaping careers of plenty of Sri Lanka players, most notably Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera.

Equally popular amongst stakeholders, Mathivanan was the only candidate from Jayantha Dharmadasa’s camp, who managed an outright win to become SLC vice president.
