Ashley-Aruna Cancels SLC Employee’s Annual Leave

Written by N Krishnamurthy

Aruna De Silva, the
controversial and notorious head of administration at Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), along with CEO Ashley De Silva, has reportedly cancelled the annual leave of all the board employees, Cricket Age reliably learns.

Aruna De Silva, who has recently been rewarded with a never heard before 100 percent salary increment, is considered a loyal of Sri Lanka Cricket so called Supreme Authority Thilanga Sumathipala and is notorious for implementing Punchi Borella’s instructions at Maitland Place.

According to sources, on Monday, SLC President Shammi Silva had blasted SLC staff for some unknown reason. After that, Aruna De Silva, after getting instructions from Ashley De Silva, suddenly cancelled annual leave of all the employees, including of those, who have already left the country for Christmas and New Year.

With this certain illogical decision, majority of SLC employees, who are already feeling cheated and betrayed after knowing Salary increments news (100% salary increment for Jerome Jayarathne and Aruna De Silva, 50% increment for Ashley De Silva), are furious with the cancellation of annual leave!

“This is called betrayal by your own bosses. Instead of looking after their staff members interest, Ashley and Aruna De Silva went behind Top brass and secretly secured their own salary increments” a top SLC official, in condition of anonymity, told Cricket Age.

At least over a dozen of SLC employees have told Cricket Age that in this hopeless scenario, where board Top Officials are looking after only their interests, it is becoming impossible for them to work and they are contemplating if leaving the organization.

Coincidentally, this is the second successive time, that Cricket Age has exposed Ashley De Silva and gangs salary increment manipulation. In June 2018 also, Cricket Age had exposed how Ashley and Jerome went behind then SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala and secured salary increments in the last few hours before his shameful ouster from Maitland place.
