Indian seamer Deepak Chahar became a household name in Indian cricket after impressing with his ability to swing the ball both ways. Chahar, who has become a regular for Indian team in T20Is recently became the first Indian bowler to pick-up a hat-trick in the shortest format of the game, versus Bangladesh, as he registered the best-ever bowling figures by a bowler in T20Is (6 wickets for 7 runs) to help India win the three-match T20I series 2-1. Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun heaped praise on Chahar while lauding his ability to swing the ball both ways.

“Deepak has been exceptional even in the IPL. He is someone who can move the ball both ways. He is also a very skillful bowler, bowling slow bouncers, yorkers, I think with so much skill on hand… let me put it this way, he has got everything in him to do well at the international level,” Bharat Arun told reporters in the pre-match press conference ahead of 1st ODI against West Indies in Chennai.

With Bhuvneshwar Kumar out of the three-match ODI series against Windies scheduled to start from December 15 at the MA Chidambaram in Chennai, Chahar will look to partner with Mohammed Shami in the series and help India continue their sensational run of form.
