BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was certainly impressed by what Team India produced against the Windies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and took to social media platform Twitter to express his delight. India on Wednesday demolished the West Indies in the third and final T20I of the three-match series as the Men in Blue defeated the Kieron Pollard-led outfit by 67 runs to clinch the series 2-1. It was a complete hammering by Indian troika of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli as all three played blistering knocks to pile misery on the Windies bowlers. While Rohit scored 71 off 34, Rahul played a scintillating knock of 91 off 56 whereas Kohli finished the proceedings with an unbeaten 70 off 29 deliveries.

Ganguly penned his thoughts as he wrote while India’s series win is not a surprise but what will stand out is the fearless approach with the willow which everyone will see from the Men in Blue in the shortest format of the game. The former Indian skipper added that no one plays for his place in the team but to win matches for India.

“Not many expected India to lose a series .. win was not a surprise .. what will stand out is the fearless batting which all will see in T20 now ..play without fear .. no one plays for his place but plays to win ..well done India @BCCI @imVkohli @JayShah @ImRo45,” Ganguly wrote following India’s T20I series triumph in Mumbai.

Team India captain Virat Kohli too praised the approach of the side and said how they had always wanted to bat first and win games.

“We had spoken a lot (about batting first and winning). It was about going out there and executing. I was in the zone and I carried on. Told KL, he needs to bat long and hold one end. It was a pretty special innings and also being our second wedding anniversary, it was a special gift. It was a special night and one of the best innings I have played. And batting first we won, feels really good,” Kohli said after the match.
