Arafat Sunny, Al-Amin Hossain recalled for T20Is against India

Out of favour left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and pacer Al-Amin have been recalled to the Bangladesh T20I set-up for the upcoming series against India. The Bangla Tigers announced a 15-man squad on Thursday which will see Shakib Al Hasan lead the side in 3-match T20I series against the Men in Blue.

While Sunny had played his last T20I for Bangladesh against Pakistan on March 16, 2016, Hossain was seen in action in the shortest format for the national side on March 26, 2016. Their respective ODI matches for Bangladesh took place even before.

“We have picked Arafat as he is bowling quite consistently in the domestic arena. We already have Shakib [Al Hassan] but we need someone who has the experience of playing the shorter format,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz after the squads were announced.

“Al Amin was picked as we have seen there is some grass on the Indian wickets. In the recent past, he had improved his fitness to quite an extent and he is one of the few bowlers who can bowl with the seam up and we have seen that pacers who are bowling with the seam up are quite successful in India.” Abedin added.

The first match of the T20I series between India and Bangladesh will take place on November 03, the second on November 07 and the last fixture will be held on November 10.

Squad for 3-match T20I series against India:

Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Naim, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Aminul Islam, Arafat Sunny, Mohammad Saifuddin, Al-Amin Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Shafiul Islam
