Rohit Sharma lavishes praise on Suryakumar Yadav

Mumbai Indians (MI) reached their fourth Indian Premier League final after beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday. This was MI’s fourth straight victory against CSK in the IPL and their third in this season. When all the batsmen were finding it tough to score on a sluggish Chepauk pitch, Suryakumar Yadav negated the threats posed by Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja with ease. He scored a match-winning 71 to take MI to their fourth IPL final. After the match, captain Rohit Sharma also lavished praise on Yadav, saying that he is one of the best players of spin bowling for his team.

“He’s (Surya) probably one of our best batsmen against spin. We knew the spin threat they possess will be a huge factor. Surya plays spin very well. I have seen him at close quarters. The shots he plays behind the wicket, those are not easy shots. Always knew he was going to come good at some stage,” Rohit said after the match.

CSK will play the winners of the Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals at the Dr. Y.S. Rajashekhar Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag on Friday. The winner of that match will face Mumbai Indians in the final in Hyderabad on Sunday.
