Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have assured the fans of a turn around next year as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) look to end their disappointing season on a winning note with a victory in their final game on Saturday. RCB embraced yet another dismal season as they failed to make it to the playoffs managing to win just 4 out of their first 13 games. The Kohli-led side were the first team to get eliminated from the playoffs.
RCB got off to the worst possible start in the league this season going on a losing streak of six games before sparking a little comeback in the second phase of the tournament. RCB arrested their spectacular collapse with an 8-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab to open their account before going down against Mumbai Indians in their next game.
Ahead of their final game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday, the franchise shared a video where Kohli and AB can be seen apologising to the fans for their dismal campaign while thanking them for the support throughout.
AB – RCB fans, thank you so much for the support throughout the season, you guys are incredible. Virat will agree to the fact that the last game with the rain, it was only a 5-over game but one of the most memorable games in my life and it wasn’t even the result. Thanks to you guys.
Virat – One game left for the season, it’s been disappointing for us and for all of you but as we do every year, we are going to come out and do everything next season to turn it around.
AB – Sorry about the up and down performances, we are hoping to finish on a high. Please keep supporting us, it keeps us going. Hoping something special is coming in the last game and next season.
