Virat Kohli all set to vote on May 12 in Gurugram

Written by N Krishnamurthy

Indian captain Virat Kohli will exercise his voting rights in Gurugram on May 12. This comes as welcome news for the cricketer as earlier there were reports which suggested that he would not be able to cast his vote for the current Lok Sabha, as he wanted to vote from Mumbai, where his wife Anushka Sharma resides.

Kohli confirmed this news in his Instagram stories. He shared the picture of his ‘Election Photo Identity Card’ on the platform and wrote: ‘Ready to vote in Gurugram on 12th May. Are you?’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had himself reached out to Virat Kohli and several other sports personalities to vote and spread awareness about the same.

Haryana votes in phase 6 of India’s seven-phase, staggered general elections. All the 10 seats in Haryana, including Gurugram, go to polls on May 12. The results will be declared on May 23.
