David Warner cross 600 runs third time in an IPL season

Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman David Warner scripted yet another record in the ongoing IPL 2019 despite failing to reach his sixth straight half-century score for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Carving out a bizarre boundary-less knock of 37 runs off 32 deliveries at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, Warner equalled Chris Gayle’s elite IPL record.

With his knock of 37 runs, Warner has reached the mark of 600 runs in IPL 2019. It is for the third consecutive season that Warner reached the mark in an IPL season and hence became the second batsman after Gayle to achieve the milestone thrice. Warner had scored 600-plus runs in 2016, 2017 and 2019, while Gayle had reached the mark in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli is the only other batsman to reach 600-plus runs in an IPL season multiple times. He had achieved the milestone in 2013 and 2016.

Warner, who is presently leading the Orange Cap table this season, has scored 611 runs in 11 innings at an average of 67.88 with seven fifties and one century.
