West Indies batsman Chris Gayle is just six runs away from joining the likes of Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni in an elite list of players to have scored 4000 or more runs in the Indian Premier League. Gayle, who is gearing up to start Kings XI Punjab’s IPL 2019 campaign against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, will look to continue his blistering form and get an early momentum against the Ajinkya Rahane-led RR.

Gayle was in blistering form in the recently concluded ODI series as he smashed 424 runs in 4 matches at a sensational average of 106.00. The ‘Universe Boss’ hammered 20 boundaries and 39 sixes.  In IPL, Gayle has as many as 3994 runs in 112 matches to his name with six centuries and 24 half-centuries at a brilliant average of 41.17 and everyone knows how destructive the Windies batter can become if he gets it going with his bat.

Kings XI Punjab will be banking on Gayle to give them a good start along with Indian batter KL Rahul, who will also look to impress the national selectors ahead of the upcoming World Cup 2019.

Kings XI Punjab full team for IPL 2019: Ravichandran Ashwin, KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Andrew Tye, Mayank Agarwal, Ankit Rajpoot, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Karun Nair, David Miller, Moises Henriques, Nicholas Pooran, Varun Chakravarthy, Sam Curran, Mohammed Shami, Sarfaraz Khan, Hardus Viljoen, Arshdeep Singh, Darshan Nalkande, Prabhsimran Singh, Agnivesh Ayachi, Harpreet Brar, Murugan Ashwin.
