Should celebrate Women’s Day as big as Diwali: Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians, on Friday, posted a heartfelt message on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2019. Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma, along with Yuvraj Singh and Jasprit Bumrah, gave a wholehearted message to every woman out there in a warm video posted by the Mumbai-based IPL outfit. International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year to appreciate womanhood and the importance of women in our society.

Mumbai Indians took to social media platform Twitter to share the video featuring Rohit, Yuvraj and Bumrah and captioned the video, “#WomensDay has to be the most celebrated day in India!” From @ImRo45, @Jaspritbumrah93, @YUVSTRONG12 and every one of us at MI, a very #HappyWomensDay to all the special women out there #HappyWomensDay2019.”

In the video, the Mumbai Indians’ troika of Rohit, Bumrah and Yuvraj are seen sharing warm stories and discussing the importance of women in their daily lives. Rohit stated that Women’s Day should be celebrated as big as Diwali while adding that the women, who have played a part in his life, has changed him completely.

“Women’s Day has to be the most celebrated day in India. The women who have played a part in my life have changed me completely. So, I think, it is important that we celebrate Women’s Day as big as Diwali or any other festival that we celebrate,” said the Mumbai Indians captain.

Bumrah said he feels women are way above men and the women in his life have always given him strength and confidence.

“I always feel women are way above men. They always give me strength, they always give me confidence. So, I am very happy to have them in my life. During any situation, they never feel weak. They are always there in tough times, in happier times,” said Bumrah.
