Sachin Tendulkar lauds Saina Nehwal after ace shuttler clinches Indonesia Masters title

aina Nehwal became the first Indian female badminton player to win the Indonesia Masters title on Sunday. However, the 28-year-old Indian ace was not happy with the manner of victory as her opponent in the finals, Carolina Marin limped out of the contest due to a knee injury. The Indonesia Masters 2019 champion shared pictures from the finals with a message to make a quick recovery.

Seeing such a sportsmanship act, former Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar shared a photo of Saina Nehwal helping an injured Carolina Marin on his Twitter handle as well to congratulate Saina and wished Carolina to get well soon.

Sachin writes, “Wonderful to see @NSaina play incredibly well to reach the finals of the #IndonesiaMasters2019 and go on to become the first Indian woman shuttler to win it. Saina has had her fair share of injuries and has come out fighting fit, I’m sure @CarolinaMarin will bounce back too.”

Saina Nehwal has also faced a fair share of injuries in her career. She had suffered a shin injury late last year. She mentioned about it in her interview. “I just came out of injury. I played this events to see how good is this. and I’m happy I could play the semifinals at Malaysia and final here. Looking forward to get back to shape and play next tournament,” she said.
