This is well documented that Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) controversial CEO Ashley De Silva is loyal only to former president Thilanga Sumathipala and his associates and only follows the orders that comes from Punchi Borella.

As a CEO, he must be unbiased, but Ashley shamelessly disobeys and ignores everyone in order to safeguard Sumathipala’s Camp interests.

In his latest attempt, Ashley has reportedly submitted false documents of Crysantha Kapuwatha to election committee. According to sources, Kapuwatha never played cricket at any level. However, Ashley has submitted false documents by stating that Kapuwatha had played U23 cricket during eighties!

The truth is that during that period Kapuwatha club Karunegela was not even the part of that tournament.

It is noteworthy that Kapuwatha is a close associate of Sumathipala and has put his nomination for the SLC office bearers election, to be held on February 21.

So, in order to looking after Sumathipala camp interest, Ashley didn’t hesitate to put even false document. Putting the false documents, though, is not a new thing for Ashley. Few months ago, he produced false documents in the court in a case, where he has been charged with harassment allegations. Interestingly, those documents were prepared by SLC HR manager Dananjaya Wijesinghe’s wife!
