Harin Fernando to take over as Sri Lanka Sports Minister

Harin Fernando, the young and dynamic parliamentarian form the UNP, Will take over as the new Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, Cricket Age reliably learns.

After Ranil Wickramsinghe was reappointed as the Prime Minister of the country again last week, the UNP led government is expected to form the new cabinet On Thursday.

According to sources, Former Sports Minister Navin Dissanayake was also in the race to take over, however UNP has opted for Harin Fernando. A genuine Sports lover, Harin Fernando has risen rapidly and has become one of the most prominent politician in the country.

As a Sports Minister, Harin first task will be the high profile election of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC). The nominations have already been submitted and elections are likely to be held on February 7.
