Bangladesh captain Shakib-Al-Hasan was full of praise for the way his side played in the second Test against the Windies, stating that they did well in all departments and executed their plans to perfection.

“The coaching staff and I asked exactly this of the team and this was our plan. We did the processes right and we did well in every department. Overall a very good team effort,” Shakib said at the post-match ceremony.

Bangladesh won the second Test by an innings and 184 runs thanks in no small part to Mehidy Hassan’s 12-wicket haul in the match to complete a whitewash in the two-match series.

“I can’t ask for more from the team. I was demanding in the two Tests and everyone stepped up. The individuals know that they can improve themselves and we have some tough challenges coming up so hopefully we can live up to it.”

Windies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite didn’t mince words when asked about what he felt let the team down the most.

“Our bowlers were good, as were Shannon Gabriel and Shane Dowrich. (Shimron) Hetmyer played a good innings too. But as batsmen we didn’t do our jobs. We didn’t get a partnership and we let ourselves down on the field,” said Brathwaite.
