Yuvraj Singh set to play next three Ranji Trophy games for Punjab

Written by Abhishek Patil

Having been released from his contract with the Indian Premier League franchise Kings XI Punjab, Yuvraj Singh is all set to play his first Ranji Trophy game of the season as he has joined the team ahead of its tie against Nitish Rana-led Delhi at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi. He will be playing three games for his state that includes a match against Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, a report in Sportstar suggests.

Yuvraj played for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare trophy under the leadership of Mandeep Singh. He scored 264 runs in seven innings but was ignored for a place in any of the Deodhar Trophy squads, which clearly means that he is not a part of the World Cup plans of India.

The three Ranji trophy games that he will play will be a chance for Yuvraj to perform well and attract a bid in the auction. Punjab play Delhi from November 28 while their next two games will start on December 6 and 14.
