Second Sri Lanka Vs England To Go Ahead As Planned

Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to state that the 2nd Test Match to be played between Sri Lanka vs England; will go ahead as planned in Pallekele, despite early concerns of shifting the match to Colombo; owing to an issue cropped up pertaining to reservation of hotel rooms for the players and match officials.

Following the intervention of the Minister of Sports Faiszer Musthapha PC., to resolve the matter, and after successful discussions had thereto between the Management of the Earls Regency Hotel and the Honorable Minister with the intention of accommodating the Two National Teams and Match Officials at Earls Regency Hotel in consideration of the national importance of the event, The Hotel, with the consent of the guests has taken steps to re-accommodate them to star hotels in the vicinity which consist of similar amenities.

In addition, SLC and Hotel has decided to offer variety of services and privileges to the esteemed guests as compensation; who have deprived the stay at Earls Regency due to the aforementioned.
Further, SLC wishes to convey its heartfelt gratitude and courteous thanks to the management of Earls Regency for the support and assistance extended in this regard and Hon. Minister of Provincial Council, Local Government and Sports for his timely intervention to avoid a crisis.
