Indian captain Virat Kohli remarkable purple patch saw him destroy the West Indies bowling line-up in phenomenal fashion to finish as the highest run-getter of the recently-concluded ODI series. As he continues to impress everyone with his insatiable hunger for runs, former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar has agreed that Kohli is on the same level as the legendary Sir Donald Bradman.

‘of course he is no question about it,’ said Akhtar on Twitter, when he was asked if Kohli is the modern-day Bradman.

In the five-match ODI series against Jason Holder’s men, Kohli was in impeccable form as he broke into the elite 10,000-run club. He overtook the legendary Sachin Tendulkar to become the quickest to achieve the feat.

Apart from becoming the quickest to complete 10,000 ODI runs, Kohli left behind MS Dhoni to become the fourth highest all-time scorer for India in ODI cricket. Kohli currently has 10,232 runs in 216 ODIs and averages 59.84 with 38 centuries to his name. He stands just 12 centuries away from overhauling Sachin to bag the most number of Centuries in ODI history.
