Written by Abhishek Patil

Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene has said India are better than the rest of teams, participating in the Asia 2018. India have enjoyed an excellent campaign in the ongoing Asia Cup and have maintained a 100% win record so far. The team led by stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma, has already booked a berth in the finale.

‘India have fared well without their skipper Kohli and Rohit has led the team superbly. The assurance Rohit provides, allows the management to give timely rest to Kohli. India’s bench strength is also strong and Rohit’s knowledge of the team bodes well. Both his leadership attributes and handling of the side deserve special mention’ he wrote In his column for The Times Of India.

Pakistan and Bangladesh face a knock-out battle in the Super Four and Jayawardene has put his money on the former to reach the final.

Jayawardene stated that India’s potential opponents in the final, Pakistan, have struggled with both their batting and bowling.
