SLC Election Postponed After Court Verdict

Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) electing has been postponed till June 14, after Court gave it’s verdict on a petition on Wednesday, on a  filed by former secretary Nishantha Ranatunga, Cricket Age reliably learns.

Hearing the petition, Appeal Court issued stay order preventing SLC election from being held until June 14.

Nishantha Ranatunga, the former SLC Secretary, In the petition, had made several allegations against Sumathipala, and questioned the validity of AGM.

According to sources, both the parties hired reputed team of lawyers for the today’s hearing. Nishantha Ranatunga hired Sri Lanka top most lawyer Romesh De Silva and his team.

Sumathipala lawyer’s team was led by Marapana, Who is also one of the top most lawyer in Sri Lanka, and has appeared in almost all court cases of Sumathipala over the years.

However, after overseeing all the documents provided by Nishantha, the Court decided to postpone the election till June 14.
