Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) immediately Suspended three fomer players Jeewantha Kalatunga (Western Provincial Coach), Tharindu Indika (Galle Assistant Manager) and Tharindu Mendis (Colombo District Coach), after they were caught in a sting operation of Al Jazeera, while plotting Pitch-Fixing. However, at the time when SLC pretended itself to have zero tolerance against international match fixing, it seems they have comfortable with domestic match fixing, as Ravin Wickramaratne, the main accused of Panadura and Kalutara domestic match, is still enjoying all the perks of board.

The experts of Sri Lanka Cricket circuit Says Under Thilanga Sumathipala, SLC will never take stern action against match fixing culprits, as it affect on his club vote bank.

“Ravin Wickramaratne’s only achievement is that he belongs to Panadura SC Club. So, he brings Two votes with him. And that only matter for Sumathipala” a former SLC President told Cricket Age.

On Galle pitch fixing controversy, entire world came to know that the saga. Before SLC, ICC, The governing body of cricket, already started it’s investigation.

“Sumathipala Led SLC just wanted to show the world and ICC that they don’t tolerate Match Fixing, that’s why they suspended these three officials. The reality is In Ravin Wickramaratne saga, two inquires have already thrown into dustbin and they have started another inquiry just to make people fool” he told further.

The reality is that SLC didn’t take any action against Ravin Wickramaratne and others, even after one and half years. Sports Ministry has declared him as main culprit, ordered SLC to suspend him, but Sumathipala has always maintained silence.

“Sumathipala is taking action Match fixing is the biggest joke of the century, because he himself has been accused to run the betting and gambling business” He told further.

Instead, SLC allowed Ravin Wickramaratne to call for a press conference at its headquarter, and he proudly claimed that he is the best friend of Sumathipala!

Furthermore, Now, Ravin Wickramaratne, Who is accused of domestic match fixing, is going to West Indies for three match test series. SLC maybe wants to use him now at the global stage as well!
