Aruna De Silva Stay In Hotel Without Approval Cost SLC Half Million

Written by Rohit Pawar

During the recently conducted Nidhas Trophy, Aruna de Silva who was also involved in the Pandura-Kalutara match fixing, on this occasion took matters into his hand and occupied a room in a reputed hotel without the approval of either CEO Ashley de Silva’s or Mathivanan’s who is in charge of International Cricket. The bill to be paid by Sri Lanka Cricket on account of his stay is around half a million and the laundry bill is around Rs.27,000/-.

According to sources, Mathivanan has not signed the bill for approval and CEO Ashley de Silva has initiated an investigation and will be submitting the report to the Executive Committee for action.

However Aruna de Silva who was recently made Administrative Manager by Thilanga Sumathipala is confident that he will get away since he is one of his closest associate.

It is sad to see money is spent in this manner by officers who only think of them selves and not the game. In another run of play let’s see if Aruna de Silva will be taken to task on CEO’s Ashley de Silva’s recommendation. So far Mathivanan is not releasing the cheque that has been prepared for payment. It is interesting to note how SL operates and it is time that the Sports Minister intervene and ensure that justice is done and the game is held in high esteem to ensure corruption by these officials is eradicated.
