Did Preity Zinta Really Say She’s Happy Mumbai Indians Didn’t Qualify For playoffs?

Written by Shreyas Vyas

The hopes of Kings XI Punjab making it to the next round of IPL 2018 solely depended on the result of the earlier game between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils. A win for Mumbai Indians would have meant that KXIP-CSK tie was a dead rubber. MI’s match with Delhi Daredevils ended after 8:00 pm, which meant that KXIP owners and players had no idea about the result of that (MI vs DD) game before the start of KXIP’s match.

The KXIP owners, though, soon came to know that Mumbai Indians had lost and Preity Zinta, KXIP co-owner, was quite happy as it meant that KXIP were still in the race to make it to the next round. Meanwhile, a video has surfaced on the social media claiming that Zinta went onto say that she is happy that MI had not qualified.

While there is no audio on the video to clarify on what she said but the lips seem to read like she was saying,” I am just very happy that Mumbai is not going to the finals…Really happy”. Well, it was the only thing that KXIP needed as a defeat for MI opened the gates for KXIP. They, though, squandered the chance and lost the game by a margin of five wickets. It ruled them out of the tournament too.
