The Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a brilliant season in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 and currently sit on top of the points table with nine wins and three losses in their 12 games so far, giving them a total of 18 points. Much of their success has come with the exceptional performances of their bowling unit, of which Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan is a major part.

While Speaking to Cricbuzz, Rashid Khan revealed that Anil Kumble and Shahid Afridi were his favorite players while growing up.

“My idols were Anil Kumble and Shahid Afridi, they both bowled quickly as well. So I was fond of bowling fast. If I bowl leg spin, I bowl it fast,” he said.

The 19-year-old leggie has been one of the stand-out performers this season, taking a total of 13 wickets so far at a miserly economy of 7.20, which is the among the best in the competition. He was bought by the Sunrisers in the 2017 IPL auction and after impressing in his first season, he was snapped up by the team once again using the Right to Match (RTM) option.
