In a disgusting case of wasting and misusing Money, Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) President Thilanga Sumathipala has obliged almost all of his ExCo Members with insurance, Cricket Age reliably learns.

According to SLC constitution, only board employees are eligible to get insurance. However, in order to oblige his close associates, who supported him in winning the last SLC election, sumathipala has awarded ExCo members with insurance policy as well.

“This is not only disgusting, but it’s the serious breach of SLC constitution as well. As per SLC constitution, the ExCo members are associated with the board as a honorary capacity, thus they don’t comes under insurance” a former SLC President told Cricket Age.

In total, there are insurance for 14 members of the ExCo for Medical, Critical illness and accident. It cost SLC more than 0.6 Million! This money should have been used for the development of the game in d country, as domestic cricket has been on the ventilator. Instead, it been misused on those, who blindly supported wrongdoings.

The another surprising fact is that Ashley De Silva, the incompetence CEO of SLC, has blindly signed the insurance Cover documents. In this scenario, it would be interesting to see, how FCID looks on this entire matter!
