Fans Calls For Malinga Comeback As Mumbai Indians Bowling Owes Continues

Written by Rohit Pawar

Mayank Markande’s four-wicket heroics went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians in a last-over thriller at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.

For the second time in the ongoing IPL, Mumbai Indians death over specialist bowlers couldn’t win it for their team.

On Thursday, Mumbai needed one wicket to win and Hyderabad required 11 runs.

Hooda smashed a six off the first delivery off the bowling of Ben Cutting and Hyderabad then needed 5 off 5. One wide and three singles later, the match was tied and Billy Stanlanke found himself on strike to face the last ball of the innings, with Hyderabad needing one run to win. The southpaw heaved the ball on the onside and the hosts recorded a famous win in front of their fans.

After another loss, Sri Lanka Cricket fans were disappointed as their iconic bowler Lasith Malinga was sitting on the dugout, as a bowling mentor of the Mumbai Indians.

Many of them argued Mumbai Indians to reconsider Malinga as a player once again.

“Happy Malinga Less @mipaltan lose… 😂😂😂
#MivSRH” wrote Faiq.

“Again mumbai lost… Bowling mentor should be in the ground 🏟 . @Lasith99Malinga @mipaltan @MahelaJay” wrote Akila Lakmal.

“Mumbai Indians, let your bowling mentor Lasith Malinga play. Might have lost pace but he is clever, intelligent and got all the skills, variations & class. Lasith still got it in him. #LordOfTheYorkers #BringBackMalinga @mipaltan” wrote Daniel Alexander.

“Mumbai Indians missed Slinger Malinga for the 2nd Consecutive match #SRHvMI #IPL2018” wrote Azzam Ameen.

One of the greatest shorter formats bowler of his generation, Malinga is also theost successful bowler in the history of the IPL, and was in top form during recently concluded local t20 tournament in Sri Lanka.
