Russel Arnold to Be Appointed As Lanka Premier League Director

Former Sri Lanka Batsman and one of the best Commentator going around in World Cricket, Russel Arnold Will be appointed as the director of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Cricket Age reliably learns.

As per SLC, Indian Premier League (IPL) style LPL to be played between 18 August to 10 September, when Sri Lanka has no international Commitments.

“After the Grand Success of Nidahas trophy, LPL will the most ambitious project of SLC. That’s why we have decided to sign Arnold as the director of the league, as he has the knowledge of all the T20 leagues going around” A top official told Cricket Age.

“Most probably, he will sign the deal before 10th April and his stint will start from 1st May” The official revealed further.

The stylish left-hander of Sri Lanka’s most glorious era, Arnold played 44 tests, 180 ODIs and sole t20I in his illustrious career. After the retirement, he has successfully established himself as one of the top commentator in the world cricket.

LPL, meanwhile, Will Comprise Four Teams with local and foreign players. Though, in the first edition, there are doubts regarding the participation of big international players, Who might be involved with other leagues scheduled at the same time. Caribbean Premier League to be played from 8 August to 16 September, while the Natwest T20 Blast slated to be played from 4 July to 15 September.

However, SLC is confident that The most powerful cricket board BCCI will provide it’s players NOC to play in the LPL.

“SLC shares a great rapport with BCCI. so we are confident we will bring Indian stars to the LPL” the official further added.
