SLC Postpone Umpires Exam after Backlash

In a complete U-turn, Sri Lanka Cricket board (SLC) has postponed Umpires examination, after the umpires from all panels have raised some serious questions, Cricket Age reliably learns.

“Due to the possible Nidahas Trophy pre series session which falls on the 5th of March, the Umpires committee has decided to postpone the scheduled examination to the 26th of March 2018. The venue and time will be notified in due course. The workshops already arranged will go ahead as planned. Please be present” Tyrone Wijewardena from the umpires Committee has sent a mail to all the panels, and stated the following.

On February 27, Cricket Age had exclusively published the news, how ‘unethically’ SLC tried to conduct the exam midway through the cricket season, that too without proper notification.
