Kamal Deshpriya Resigned as SLC Channel Head After Dispute with Ravin Wickramaratne

Kamal Deshpriya, the Channel Head of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has resigned from his post after the dispute with powerful and controversial ExCo Member and Assistant Secretary Ravin Wickramaratne, Cricket Age reliably learns.

Deshpriya, a reputed media person in Sri Lanka, had joined SLC in July 2017. Even though SLC doesn’t have a Channel, he was looking after internal production through Web and Media devision.

However, according to sources, Deshpriya couldn’t cope with Ravin Wickramaratne, who is also the pillar head of web and Media of SLC.

“There were some issues between them from the beginning itself. Deshpriya is a self respected person and he denied to be partnered in some ‘Mysterious’ things happening under Ravin” a source revealed to Cricket Age.

In another unfortunate incident, as soon as Deshpriya resigned, SLC tried to hire his replacement, importantly without advertising. According to sources, SLC HR division already interviewed one person today itself, without following the proper procedure. According to sources, in recent times, SLC HR department has become notorious for hiring employees without advertising!
