Mystery of Kettharama Before The Nidhahas Trophy

Written by Rohit Pawar

Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), being famous for extravagant unnecessary things, has been constructing a boundry wall around R. Premdasa Stadium, Kettharama and it has learnt that the budget could be doubled, of what actual amount has been approved.

All the matches of the upcoming Nidhahas Trophy will be played at the venue, and according to sources, The approved budget for the wall construction is approximately 6 million. However, according to sources, the final budget could cross 22 million mark.

Moreover, The Project is under the super vision of trio of SLC powerful treasurer Shammi Silva, Godfrey Dabrera and Sajeewa Godaliyedda, so one can expect that the final cost could be more than even this figure, especially after seeing Shammi Silva track record.

Even though Shammi Silva’s qualification for the Treasurer post is a case of study, he has become notorious for lavish expenditures. His other project to establish Solar power units in all SLC owned grounds is also seems illogical, especially when Sri Lanka hardly plays one or two matches in a year in grounds like Hambontota, Pallekele.
