Sreesanth Appeals to Supreme Court Against Life Ban Imposed by BCCI

Written by Abhishek Patil

Team India’s discarded fast bowler S Sreesanth has moved the Supreme Court against the life ban imposed on him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
the Chief Justice of India has agreed to hear the case on February 5.

Sreesanth has challenged the Kerala High Court’s judgment in October wherein the cricketer was ordered to stay away from all cricket activity conducted by the BCCI. His petition has stated that the Single Judge bench of the HC had rightly decided the case on merit and revoked the ban in August but the Division Bench subsequently erred in holding that there could not be a judicial review of the BCCI’s decision.

Sreesanth was slapped a life ban by the BCCI in 2015 after the Kerala pacer was charged with corruption during the 2013 Indian Premier League. Sreesanth was charged with spot-fixing while playing for Rajasthan Royals.
