SLC Invest Over Rs. 60 million to provide ground Equipment for 14 Clubs

Sri Lanka Cricket has invested Rs. 60 million to provide ‘Ground Equipment’ for 14 of its member clubs.

The project, which is conducted by the National Development Center of Sri Lanka Cricket provided ground equipment for 9 Tier A clubs and 5 Tier B clubs.

Among the items, that was distributed are Grass Cutters, Manual Rollers, Hand Rollers, Outfield Rollers, Outfield Gang Movers, Manual Spike Rollers, Hand Tractors, Nylon Boundary Ropes and Turf Cutters.

SSC, Bloomfield, CCC, NCC, Tamil Union, Chilaw Marians, Moors, Colts and Army of the Tier A and BRC, Navy, Police, Air force and Panadura Sports Clubs, which are Tier B Clubs, received the ground equipment.

Five clubs, namely, SSC, NCC, Bloomfield, Tamil Union and CCC have also been given with Two ton Double Drum Rollers, each. While the rest, will be given the Two ton Double Drum Rollers within the next few weeks.

In addition, the SLC will also provide Pitch covers for all the above mentioned 14 clubs. The ground equipment’s were only given to the Clubs, which has its own grounds. Sri Lanka has a total of 23 clubs, representing both Tier Á’ and ‘B’ clubs.

This program, which is spearheaded by Mr. Kamal Dharmasiri, under the direct supervision of SLC President Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala is part of Sri Lanka Cricket’s ambitious initiative towards developing cricket infrastructure across the country.
