Vandersay Penalised for not playing Club Cricket, out of the ODI squad

Sri Lanka young leg-Spinner Jeffrey Vandersay has been excluded from the ODI squad against India as a disciplinary action, Cricket Age learns.

According to sources, Vandersay was in the mix for the selection for ODI team. He is already in India, with the test squad, after being named as a replacement of Rangana Herath.

However, he has been penalised for not playing Under 23 matches for his Club. Sri Lanka Cricket Board described this as a breach of discipline and took the right action to exclude him.

Sri Lanka team to play three ODIs and as many as T20I against India. The three match ODI series will be starting on 10th December.
