Bangladesh clears Hathurusingha to be Sri Lanka Coach

In a positive development for Sri Lanka cricket, The Bangladesh Cricket Board has written a letter to SLC, saying they have no objection with his negotiation for the post of the Head Coach, Cricket Age learns.

“SLC has been very supportive to us. And we have no objection if they are going to hire him as a head coach” A top BCB Official told Cricket Age.

“Actually, we have already sent a mail to SLC regarding this” he revealed further.

During the last week of November, SLC has made it publicly that they were negotiating with Hathurusingha. Now, as BCB has also given their nod, Hathurasingha will take over as next Sri Lanka Coach after the Indian tour finished.

Hathurusingha has played 26 tests and 35 ODI’s for Sri Lanka. But, he is a universally well-Known as a innovative and forward Thinking Coach. He has associated as a Shadow Coach with Sri Lanka team, during Kumar Sangakkara tenure as the captain.

Under his supervision, Bangladesh has become one of the most competitive team in the world m, especially on their home soil.

Back to 2010, Chandika Hathurasingha was all set to become Head Coach of Sri Lanka Team, after serving as a Shadow Coach. Then Captain Kumar Sangakkara was a big fan of Hathurusingha Coaching Methods, and recommended him with glowing tributes. Though, SLC had some other plans. A Ultra-Minor Controversy with Hathurusingha and he had been thrown to the dustbin, by then SLC President D. S. De Silva. Humiliated and discarded Hathurusingha left Sri Lanka with a young family and migrated to Australia. The rest of the story is known to every Cricket Fan, that how he became one of the world’s best Coach, by transforming Bangladesh to a top team, especially at home.
